NOC rebrands as AIME and elects new board to reflect changing value chain for interactive media

www.aimelink.org

Network for Online Commerce (NOC), the trade association  for the Interactive Media and Entertainment industry, today announced that it has re-branded as the Association for Interactive Media and Entertainment (AIME) to reflect the changing industry landscape and evolving technololgy and service provider value-chain around interactive media.

AIME is the only trade association with membership that encompasses the whole interactive value chain from mobile network operators, service and billing providers to broadcasters and publishers.

Established in 1995, NOC boasts over 100 members that, taken together, deliver an estimated  90 per cent of the interactive services currently being consumed in the UK.

Over that time, NOC has successfully represented members’ interests, introduced various best practice initiatives, promoted inter-industry communication and created an open dialogue with industry watchdogs including Ofcom and PhonepayPlus , giving its members a valuable voice in the regulatory process.

The rebrand of NOC to AIME also includes the election of a new executive board which will be made up of some of the leading lights from the industry.  Sally Weatherall, Commercial Director at WIN PLC, is now  Chairperson with Jeremy Flynn, CEO from D2See as Vice Chair.

AIME’s mission is to uphold its code of ethics and create an environment of consumer trust and confidence in which its members’ businesses can grow.  It will facilitate communication and engagement throughout the value chain to ensure a coordinated industry approach to excellence in interactive services.

Initiatives already facillitated by AIME include spearheading a campaign for tariff transparency in interactive services (such as participation TV), improving PayforIt billing in the mobile sector and over the next few weeks, the launch of an interactive services guide for broadcasters.

Sally Weatherall, Chairperson of AIME commented: "The interactive entertainment industry is extremely dynamic .  New services and sectors are continually coming online.  The rebrand of NOC to AIME is  very timely and reflects better the growing and evolving membership. AIME is well positioned to serve the needs of this diverse and complex industry."

"With some initiatives already underway such as the campaign for tariff transparency, it is clear that AIME is focussed on driving best practice and excellence throughout this industry."
