Media and entertainment industry christmas party ends in prize for Impulsepay’s Newell

14 Dec 2011 More than 180 people gathered at the AIME Media & Entertainment Industry Christmas Party, sponsored by IMImobile, on Tuesday night at Mary Jane’s bar, London for a celebration of a good successful year and the completion of the rebranding of WIN Ltd to IMImobile following their acquisition.

“We have seen the industry return to form this year, and with IMImobile’s platform, products and global international coverage, particularly India and Africa, we expect further growth in 2012 to be even better” says Emma Marlow, Commercial Director at IMImobile.Edward Boddington (Bod), AIME Chairman, highlighted a year of AIME achievement and growth in membership ranks, noting that in 2012 AIME’s challenge will be to continue providing focused value add benefits and broadening its representative reach across the new media market where appetite for micropayments is growing.

“In keeping with an increasingly converged market it was good to see a broad cross section of traditional and new media players all happy to share in an end of year drink – making sure the generous hospitality provided by our Sponsor Member IMImobile didn’t go to waste” says Toby Padgham, AIME Managing Director.

A word of thanks must go out to Telemedia News who supported the event and in no small way contributed to the ‘AIME Outstanding Contribution Award’. Restricted from voting for themselves, AIME Board members fully supported the recommendation that this year’s award be given to Chris Newell of ImpulsePay for the work around payments he has undertaken in AIME’s Forward Look Group and Payforit working group.

The Telemedia News contribution to the Award came in the form of respected Editor Paul Skeldon’s book ‘M-Commerce’ - although unable to make the presentation of his own book due to media commitments, it is hoped Paul will sign the prize in due course.

Karaoke and early Christmas presents handed out by IMImobile added to the festive spirit. “I hope the night signifies a clear commitment from IMImobile to the UK Media and PSMS market” says Tom Broadfoot, Head of Wholesale at IMImobile. “We look forward to the coming year and seeing everyone at the 2012 AIME/IMImobile Christmas party.”

One last word for Bod, the AIME team hopes you’re able to take a well earned break from TV Vote shows, having introduced our esteemed friend Emma Marlow as ‘Barlow’ - “As an independent judge of the karaoke performances, I can confirm that Emma is definitely a Marlow, not a Barlow”, says Padgham.
