We have been successfully representing members’ interests since 1995. In this time the industry has developed from a basic value add telecoms environment to a fully interactive media and entertainment rich industry. 1996/8 USA -  Federal Trade Commission (FTC) pay-per-call rules successfully modified

1999    UK - proposed opt-in access on 090 services challenged and moved to opt-out environment

2001    UK - content advertising rules changed to ‘within context’

2002/3 UK - led initiative for a mobile code of practice for new forms of content

2004    UK - lobbied for a review of the governance and effectiveness of regulation

2004    EC - represented interests to prevent restriction of PRS for Sales Promotions

2005    Europe - core principles of regulation adopted by European regulators

2005    UK – lobbied for MOU between regulators to achieve transparent and joined up approach to regulation

2006    UK – initiative to drive a cross industry representative forum; Industry Liaison Panel (ILP) formed
